Chris Van der Drift has signed for the Mofaz Racing outfit for his return to the World Series by Renault Formula 3.5 this year.
The 25-year old driver, who competed and won several races in the Superleague Formula last season, as well as, participated in the GP2 Asia Series (2008/09), will be making a comeback to the World Series by Renault (WSbR) Formula 3.5 (F3.5) by joining Mofaz Racing.
MOFAZ Racing’s Director, Ferhan Fauzy, was quoted as saying: “Chris is an experienced driver and has made a strong impression in every category he raced in. He has potential to do great things. We look forward to working with him and are confident that along with Jake Rosenzweig, our American driver, he will help us finish in the Top 3 of the Teams Championship.”
“I am so thrilled and pleased to be joining the Mofaz Racing outfit and to be returning to this Series. I am confident and hopeful that together with this team, we will deliver competitive performance throughout this season,” said Van Der Drift.
In the 2009 season, Van der Drift managed to take home a 3rd place finish on the first race weekend in the World Series by Renault, and has often enough given the season’s top drivers a competitive run for their ‘money’ to be regarded as a serious contender. He was also given the honour of representing New Zealand in the A1GP championship for the 2008/2009 seasons.
Chris Van der Drift’s drive with MOFAZ Racing will be supported by purveyors of fine luxury automobiles, Wang Selamat, and premium mineral water brand, ALLA FONTE Minerale.
The 2011 season for the World Series by Renault Formula 3.5 starts on 16/17 April at Motorland Aragon.
